Mumbai: Two weeks after former Bigg Boss contestant Zubair Khan filed a police complaint against actor Salman Khan in Lonavla, a city-based businesswoman has approached the police alleging she was threatened with rape by Salman’s bodyguard, Gurmeet Singh alias Shera, if she helped Zubair in the case.
On October 9, Zubair had approached Antop Hill police station to lodge a complaint against Salman for subjecting him to verbal abuse on the reality TV show. He was redirected to Lonavala City police station, where a Non-Cognisable offence was registered. Later, Zubair approached the complainant seeking her help to take stronger legal action against Salman and the show’s organisers. Police said she had agreed and was going to file a complaint against all concerned parties.
In the FIR registered at Khar police station on Friday, the woman, who runs an NGO, alleged Shera threatened to get her gang-raped if she helped Zubair take action against Salman. Zubair, who claimed to be related to global terrorist Dawood Ibrahim and his sister Haseena Parkar, was evicted from the Bigg Boss House for unbecoming behaviour. A video of Salman losing his temper with Zubair had gone viral on the internet shortly before this. Earlier, Sameer Antulay, Ms. Parkar’s nephew, had filed a complaint at Khalapur police station alleging Zubair was not related to the family.
She alleged that a man identifying himself as Shera had called her three days ago and asked her to ‘settle’ the matter. “I told Shera that not only was I not interested in any kind of settlement, but I would be filing a complaint against Colours, Bigg Boss, Salman and production house Endemol India. In response, Shera used abusive language with me and threatened to get me gang-raped. I was stunned and enraged,” she told The Hindu. The complainant further alleged that when she approached Khar police station, officers on duty showed disinterest in her complaint.
Senior PI Ramchandra Jadhav, Khar police station, denied the allegation. “We have already registered an FIR in the matter and are are conducting inquiries,” he said.
The police, however, have not named Shera as an accused in the case, and have instead registered a case against ‘unidentified persons’ based on the caller’s phone number. The complainant said she has been receiving several threatening calls and messages for helping Zubair. “Salman should be punished for having treated Zubair in this manner. Zubair should get justice.”
