India wins the first match of the India-Bangladesh Wheelchair Cricket Series


After a nail-biting photo finish, the Indian wheelchair cricket team won the match again Bangladesh by 2 runs. Earlier in the day,  India won the toss and elected to bat.

The Indian team scored 207 runs in 20 overs with the Bangladesh team chasing a target of 2008.

The guest team led by Bangladesh captain Mohammad Mohsin put up a brave fight but could not cross 205 runs.

The two teams will play the second match of the series at the Goregaon Sports Club on 3rd April with the final match on 4th April at the same venue.

Meanwhile, in Mumbai Bollywood Superstar Suniel Shetty will light the traditional lamp and inaugurate the Mumbai-leg of the India-Bangladesh Wheelchair Cricket Series on 3rd April 2018 at 12 noon at the Goregaon Sports Club.

Suniel Shetty’s debut film was Balwaan (1992), opposite Divya Bharti. The film which did well and was was an above average grosser launched his career as an action hero. He went on to play the protagonist in various successful movies such as Dilwale (1994), Anth (1994), Mohra(1994), Gopi Kishan (1994), Krishna (1996),  Sapoot (1996), Rakshak (1996), Border (1997), Bhai (1997), Hera Pheri (2000), Dhadkan (2000) Yeh Teraa Ghar Yeh Meraa Ghar (2001), Main Hoon Na (2004) and Red Alert: The War Within (2010). He also starred opposite Isha Koppikar in Arjun Rampal‘s debut movie Pyaar Ishq Aur Mohabbat (2001).

Suniel Shetty won the Filmfare Award for Best Villain in 2001 for Dhadkan.  Shetty also produced films such as Khel – No Ordinary GameRakht and Bhagam Bhag under the banner of Popcorn Motion Pictures.

As reported earlier several Bollywood film and TV stars will come together in a tremendous show of support for the first international wheelchair cricket match series to be held in Mumbai next month.  At least 6 former Bigg Boss contestants have confirmed their participation, a source told IndiaScribes Tv.

We have learnt that the organisers have also approached Salman Khan and his brother Sohail Khan to give away the India-Bangladesh Wheelchair Cup 2018 to the winning team.

The visiting Bangladesh wheelchair cricket team is endorsed by the Bangladesh Cricket Association, the official national cricket body of the country.

Television star Kamya Punjabi, who won the Best actress in a negative role at the Zee Gold Awards for her portrayal as Preeto in Colors’ Shakti, and the owner of the Jaipur Joshiley team at Ekta Kapoor’s Box Cricket League along with the winner of Bigg Boss 10 Manveer Gurjar will lead the celebs’ team at the India-Bangladesh Wheelchair Cricket Series 2018 special charity match.

Kamya Punjabi and Manveer Gurjar are the captain and vice-captain respectively and will head a team of 11 other Tv stars in a 6-overs action-packed night match at the Goregaon Sports Club.

Kamya and Manveer have already confirmed their participation and are really excited to be part of the show, said publicist Flynn Remedios, who however refused to reveal the names of the rest of the team.  I cannot reveal the names of the other players right now. The names of all the Tv celebs on the team will be announced at a press conference on 27th March, Remedios said.

Film and Tv stars are not just expected to grace the event with their presence, but will also participate in a friendly cricket match between the winning team of the India-Bangladesh wheelchair series.
